S· SESSION LAB COOKIE LEARNING SPACE

BROWSER BASICS / EXPERIMENT 01

What keeps you
logged in?

One real session. Two harmless cookies.
A small place to make browser storage make sense.

YOUR DEMO SESSIONCHECKING

Checking your session…

Asking the lab server whether your browser is signed in.

Waiting for server

The server verifies every check. Reloading never creates a new login or restores missing cookies.

Your three lab cookies

Their jobs are deliberately different.

MAKE THE CONNECTION

Try the cookie experiment.

Use the browser with your extension installed, and keep this page open.

  1. 1

    Create a baseline

Click Log in to demo. All three cookies should appear, and the session should say signed in.

  2. 2

    Try your extension

If Freeze isolates the selected cookies as described in your tutorial, keep only session_lab_theme, then reload this page.

  3. 3

    Read the evidence

This lab should say signed out. Unfreeze to restore, then try only session_lab_auth: it should say signed in.

WHAT THIS TELLS US

Waiting for the first server check.

A clean comparison. This lab uses no Local Storage, Session Storage, service worker, or automatic sign-in. Preferences cannot authenticate you. Demo sessions expire after one hour or a server restart.

Before using Freeze: your tutorial says it replaces cookies across the browser profile. A separate practice Chrome profile keeps other website sessions out of the experiment. Unfreeze before logging out or resetting the lab.
